My name is Dawn Luscombe or Miss Dawn, as my students call me. I am a qualified teacher with experience teaching Preschool and Kindergarten (French immersion). I am the mother of a 10 year old boy and a 11 year old girl.
I have always loved being with little children. I was once offered a job in junior high school but turned it down. I knew that my heart belonged with the little ones. I enjoy listening to their stories and to see how they view the world. Being with little children everyday gives me the chance to see things through "new" eyes. I get to sing, play make believe, and be just plain silly on a regular basis. How great is that!!
At, At Home Preschool, my goal is to help each child grow and move forward. Having taught Kindergarten, I am aware of the skills that will help when children go into the regular school setting. I am very conscious of these skills when I plan a lesson, especially for the 4 year olds. However I am equally aware of the child's age and ability, so all lessons have to be fun and enjoyable. Alphabet, sounds, printing, proper pencil grip, numbers, colours, patterns are all a huge part of our day.
