What our day looks like...
1. Meet and Greet
There are a few minutes of free play while each child arrives and gets settled in. This is a great time for children to get used to routines and for some, to develop their independence.
2. Circle Time
Welcome song, calendar (discuss important dates, days of the week, and numbers), weather, songs and games that focus on our theme, discuss craft or experiment.
3. Crafts and Centers
Both activities go on simultaneously. I work individually or in a small group on the craft while other children play with the toys that are set out. When craft is completed I interact with the children.
4. Snack Time
This is a great time for the group to socialize in a calm family-like setting.
5. Story, Games & Good-bye
We finish of our day with stories that pertain to our theme or are of particular interest to the children. Finally we play another game before saying goodbye for the day.
